Graduates can nominate themselves or be nominated by an 91̽»¨ staff member or fellow student. 

Nomination criteria:

• Candidate meets a minimum year to date overall cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above & meets all requirements to graduate.
  • The final cumulative GPA (if close) is never rounded up in points, it must be 3.5 or above as shown on the transcript to date.
  • Nominees may move forward to oral presentations if they are close to 3.5 cumulative GPA in cases where not all marks are posted final.  Once marks are posted final, the GPA is verified to ensure the chosen candidate meets requirements.
• Strong public speaking ability.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and teamwork.
• Involvement in student or community activities or volunteering.

Deadline:  nomination forms must be submitted no later than Friday, April 4, 2025, at 4 p.m.

Nominees who meet the Valedictorian criteria will be moved forward to the next stage of the selection process.

Each qualified candidate is required to give a presentation to the Campus Valedictorian Selection Committee no later than Friday, May 9, 2025.  Use the following guidelines for the presentation:

• No formal visual aids are permitted (oral presentation only) and cue cards may be used for reference.  IMPORTANT: this is not intended to be the actual valedictory speech. The final speech will be prepared later with a coach for the chosen candidate.
  
  
• The candidate’s presentation must address the following topics (5-8 minutes maximum):
  • Speak to what being an 91̽»¨ graduate means to you and your future?
  • What impact has 91̽»¨ had on you as a student?
  • What message would you relay to graduates in your valedictory address?
  • Why do you feel you should deliver the valedictory address to this year’s graduates?
  • What volunteering have you done on campus and in the community? What impact has volunteering had on you?
  • What do you feel you have learned at 91̽»¨ which will make you an exceptional employee and active citizen in your community moving forward?
• Candidates must be prepared to answer additional questions during the presentation.

CHOSEN VALEDICTORIANS

• Chosen Valedictorians must submit a copy of their final valedictory address (maximum of 5 minutes) to the Campus Valedictorian Selection Committee no later than Friday, May 23, 2025.
• Chosen Valedictorians must submit a professional head and shoulder picture and a brief Biography (100 words) to grad@nbcc.ca no later than Friday, May 23, 2025.
• For 91̽»¨ Moncton and Saint John only, the chosen Valedictorian is required to speak at all ceremonies scheduled.

91̽»¨ is committed to working with our ceremony venues to provide an accessible graduation experience for all graduates. If you require accommodations regarding access to the graduation stage, or have any other accessibility needs, email grad@nbcc.ca no later than March 28, 2025.  Please include your name, program, campus, and a brief description of your accommodation request in your email.

91̽»¨ is searching for students or graduates to perform the Canadian national anthem during convocation ceremonies at each campus. All candidates are required to sing acapella, and preference will be given to graduates.  no later than May 9-2025 to audition.  The local campus selection committee will contact each candidate to schedule an audition date and time.  Showcase your vocal talent and represent your campus with pride!  

Are you completing your program and eligible for graduation in June 2025?  It is important to verify and update your consent for disclosure online in your .  This will ensure 91̽»¨ has your permission to include your name, program of study, location of study, city of origin, and credentials achieved in our digital graduation program.  Be sure to update your “Home” address which will be announced as you cross the stage.

To verify or update your “Consent for Disclosure” information, login to .  From the home page, enter 'Consent for Disclosure' into the search bar > Select the form > Scroll to the bottom of the form and select “Yes” under ‘Graduation’> Click Save. 

IMPORTANT: This is required.  Your name will not be included in the digital program without this record of consent.

Students currently enrolled in a diploma program who wish to instead graduate with a one-year certificate from your program, MUST apply to exit early.  Many diploma programs at 91̽»¨ have the option to graduate early with a certificate.  Pending eligibility, students must discuss this with their academic advisor first if considering this option. 

The period is open from March 3 – March 25/2025 with a deadline of 4:30 pm on March 25^th.  NOTE:  Students must also submit the (found on the Graduation webpage) no later than May 1^st to ensure your gown is ordered through your respective campus.

If you are eligible to receive a parchment from one campus but wish to attend a graduation ceremony at a different campus, you must email grad@nbcc.ca to request your preferred location no later than Friday, April 25, 2025 (for June convocation). IMPORTANT:  after emailing us, be sure to   by the deadline stating the correct campus you plan to attend on the order form.

On the day of the ceremony, graduates who request this accommodation must:

• Arrive at least one hour before the ceremony start time to receive a name card and program name sign (if required).
• Collect their gown and stole before lining up for the ceremony.

NOTE: Parchments are only issued at the graduate's home (designated) campus. This means you can either pick up your parchment at your home campus the following business day after the ceremony, or email studentrecords@nbcc.ca to request your parchment be mailed.

Online bookings for graduation photos opened mid-February. The Student Union covers the sitting fee for photos. Students are responsible for the purchase of any products from Lifetouch. Appointments are still available for Moncton and Saint John. .

Graduates and/or guests are welcome to place an online flower order prior to graduation day. All online orders will be available for pickup on site. Flowers are also available to purchase the day of ceremonies at all 91̽»¨ convocations. .

Students are full partners in the learning process and the central focus of all campus activities. This award is for a current student who has made an exceptional leadership contribution within an 91̽»¨ campus and the communities they serve. One (1) award per Academic School.

The Governor General’s Academic Medals recognize the outstanding scholastic achievements of students across Canada. The Collegiate Bronze Medal is awarded to the student who has the highest overall average upon graduation from approved college and university programs. One (1) award per Academic School.

The Highest Academic Standing in a Program award recognizes the student in each program who has successfully completed and achieved highest academic standing within that program. The award recipient must achieve an overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.  Where multiple deliveries of the same program are offered at a campus, one award is granted annually. One (1) award per program per campus.

Students who have successfully completed all requirements for graduation and have attained the required overall 3.5 grade point average will receive the designation of Honours. Students who achieve ‘Honours Status’ will be recognized with an honours cord to be worn during their graduation ceremony.

Students who served in a leadership role with the 91̽»¨ Student Union will be recognized with a white cord to be worn during their graduation ceremony.

The 91̽»¨ Student Union is offering up to fifty $250 graduation bursaries to deserving June 2025 graduates. To be eligible for these bursaries, students must be a member of the 91̽»¨ Class of 2025 and have made significant contributions to their local or provincial Student Unions and the larger College community during their time at 91̽»¨.
