Step 1: Apply

Complete and submit an online application to the job you’re interested in. After you submit your online application, you can expect to receive a confirmation email from us indicating that we've received your application. You'll hear from us within four weeks after the job posting closes to let you know your application status. 

Step 2: Screening

Your application will be reviewed and if you're invited to an interview, an 91̽»¨ representative will contact you by email (secondarily by phone, if unable to reach you by email) to provide details on next steps. If your application does not proceed to the next steps, we'll still notify you by email. 

Step 3: Interview

Our interviews are conducted virtually by a selection panel and are approximately 60 minutes in length. Interview questions will be provided in advance. During your interview, you may be required to deliver a presentation or teaching demonstration. If so, we'll provide you with the details in advance.

Step 4: Offer

A hiring decision is typically made within two weeks of the interview. You'll be notified of the outcome either way. We're also happy to provide feedback on your interview if you're not selected.

Getting ready for the interview

• Before your interview, familiarize yourself with 91̽»¨ as an organization. If you’re passionate about lifelong learning and the work we do, show it! 
• Don’t forget to prepare a few questions for us. If your interview is successful, you’ll need to make a decision that can impact your career for many years, so remember to ask questions about 91̽»¨, the position and the team.
• Re-read the job posting and decide which strengths will be most important for you to highlight (have examples ready to share) in the interview based on your experience related to the job. Think of examples from your past work experience that demonstrate your knowledge, experience and skills in those areas. 
• Practice interviewing! 
• Using the example you have thought of, describe the situation, the actions you took and the results of those actions (see the STAR technique below).

Star Technique

Before the interview

• Make sure your technology works; we conduct virtual interviews using MS Teams. Please make sure your camera and volume is working. When we connect for the interview, we'll make sure we can all see and hear each other well. 
• Ensure you have a quiet, uninterrupted place to participate in the virtual interview. 
• If you need an accommodation for the interview, please advise us at the time you receive an interview invitation.

During the Interview

• Have a glass of water nearby as you will be doing most of the talking! 
• Be yourself! 
• Ask for clarification or re-phrasing of a question if it's not understood. 
• Make sure your technology works; we conduct virtual interviews using MS Teams. Please make sure your camera and volume is working. When we connect for the interview, we'll make sure we can all see and hear each other well. 
• There will be time for you to ask us questions, too! If questions have not been addressed, we'll give you another opportunity at the end of the interview to ask questions and we'll tell you about the next steps in the process.
